How to create a self-hosted WordPress blog in free web hosting service

My first encounter with self-hosted WordPress blogging platform was when my friend Shofiyudin of fikalefaza.com introduced me to web hosting world back in 2009. He urged me to register on 000space, a free web hosting service under Byethost. Shofi told me that I could create my own website or blog in that web hosting site, only with a few simple steps, and yes, it was so simple that I was thinking about helping lots of friends make their own self-hosted blogs.
This article will explain shortly about how I created my first WordPress blog on 000space, which is actually very easy even if you only use Opera Mini or Bolt browser on your phone. You don't have to possess any programming knowledge. Here's how to do it:
Registration
You can sign up for your new hosting account by going to 000space.com and clicking the Sign Up link. Once the registration page appears, fill out the form, including the username, email, password and CAPTCHA code, and don't forget to tick the "I agree with the terms of service" option. Remember that you can only use gmail email while completing this process.
Account activation
After you finish the registration, go to your Gmail page to check a new incoming mail in your inbox. You should receive an email from 000space, containing your account information and an activation link. Click the link. The link will bring you to a new page that asks you to type a CAPTCHA code, and this will complete the activation process.
Domain name
Well, your account is active. Now it's time to create a domain name for your website or blog. Supposing that your newly-created account on 000space is a baby, the baby has not yet had a name. You need to name it. Of course, unlike a human baby, you can't give your 000space baby an existing name, a name that has already been in use. Instead, choose a unique name.
To name or to add a domain to your would-be website, you need to log in to your CPanel. Go to cpanel.000space.com.
Once you're logged in, find the "Sub-Domain" link under the Domains menu, usually in the upper.
Here, you can type your own unique name, for example myaccount.000space.com. The 000space is the main domain, and the myaccount is your domain, often called as subdomain. You can select the main domain availabe in the selection lists behind the subdomain box, so other than 000space you can also use, for example, totalh.com, 10001mb.com etc. Once you're done, press the Add domain button
Blog installation
Finally, you do this important step, installing your WordPress-based blog. In your Cpanel page, find Software & Services menu and click the iVista-Easy Script Installation sub menu. A new page appears. Now select the domain you just created, i.e., myaccount.000space.com and click "proceed."
You'll see a lot of website engines, including Joomla, Drupal, etc. Find the WordPress engine. Click the install button in that WordPress row. And now you only need to press the Next button and repeat until the installation is successful, something which is similar to PC software installation. When it says "the installation is successful," then your blog is ready. Congratulation!
Enter http://youraccount.000space.com/wp-admin to set up your wordpress blog. This is also the link where you log in to your blog.
Happy blogging!
